Which server software should I choose?
- Just you and friends, pure vanilla: the official Minecraft server.jar. No plugins or mods, exactly Mojang's game.
- Plugins (permissions, economy, protection, minigames): Paper — faster than vanilla and runs Bukkit/Spigot plugins. Want more gameplay switches? Purpur. Only very large servers need Folia.
- Mods and modpacks: use the loader your mods are built for — Fabric (light, updates fast), NeoForge (most big mods from 1.20.2 on) or Forge (classic modpacks like 1.12.2 and 1.20.1).
- Mods and plugins: a hybrid such as Arclight or Mohist — powerful, but test your mix first.
- Several servers behind one address: a proxy — Velocity for new networks.
- Phone and console players: they use Bedrock Edition — see Bedrock Dedicated Server.

FAQ
Is it safe to download server jars here?
MCJarHub never re-hosts or modifies files: each download goes to the source named on the page — the official project where one exists — and shows a checksum so you can verify the file. Mirror-hosted files are clearly labelled.
Is MCJarHub official?
No. It is an independent index, not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft or any server project. Where a project has an official download server, the button takes you straight there.
Which server jar is fastest?
For plugin servers, Paper and its forks (Purpur, Pufferfish, Leaf) are much faster than vanilla or Spigot. Folia helps only very large servers. See Paper vs Spigot vs Purpur.
Do I need to accept the EULA?
Yes. Every Minecraft server stops after the first start until you set eula=true in eula.txt. Proxies such as Velocity and Bedrock software are different — see their pages.
