BungeeCord Proxy Download — All Versions

The classic proxy that links multiple servers into one network.

What BungeeCord is and who it's for

BungeeCord is the original Minecraft proxy by md_5 of SpigotMC. A proxy sits in front of several backend servers (lobby, survival, minigames) so players can move between them without reconnecting. It runs BungeeCord plugins, not Bukkit plugins, and listens on port 25577 by default.

BungeeCord "versions" on this site are build labels, one per supported protocol range, so everything is listed on this page. For new networks PaperMC recommends Velocity, which has modern player forwarding.

How to set up a BungeeCord server

Steps for the latest version (26.1); every version page has its own exact commands.

  1. Install a current Java version.
  2. Download the BungeeCord jar and start it with the script below — a proxy has no Mojang EULA and is not tied to one Minecraft version.
  3. It listens on port 25577 by default (host in config.yml). Players connect to the proxy; your backend servers run on other ports (or machines) and must not be reachable directly.
  4. Enable IP forwarding: ip_forward: true in the proxy's config.yml, and settings.bungeecord: true in each backend's spigot.yml with online-mode=false in server.properties.
  5. Register your backend servers in the proxy config and restart.

BungeeCord FAQ

The newest BungeeCord release on MCJarHub is 26.1 (build 2107), published 24 Oct 2026.

Do I need a separate BungeeCord version for each Minecraft version?

No. A current BungeeCord build supports a wide range of client versions; your backend servers decide the game version.

BungeeCord or Velocity?

Velocity is faster and more secure with modern forwarding; BungeeCord has the older plugin ecosystem. See Velocity vs BungeeCord vs Waterfall.
