Waterfall Proxy Download — All Versions

A discontinued BungeeCord fork focused on performance (use Velocity for new setups).

What Waterfall is and who it's for

Waterfall is PaperMC's fork of BungeeCord with performance and stability fixes. PaperMC has ended support for it and recommends Velocity for all networks; the builds remain available here for existing setups.

Waterfall files come from PaperMC's official build server with SHA-256 checksums. Like BungeeCord it listens on port 25577 by default and runs BungeeCord plugins.

How to set up a Waterfall server

Steps for the latest version (1.21); every version page has its own exact commands.

  1. Install Java 8 or newer (e.g. Eclipse Temurin) and check it with java -version.
  2. Download the Waterfall jar and start it with the script below — a proxy has no Mojang EULA and is not tied to one Minecraft version.
  3. It listens on port 25577 by default (host in config.yml). Players connect to the proxy; your backend servers run on other ports (or machines) and must not be reachable directly.
  4. Enable IP forwarding: ip_forward: true in the proxy's config.yml, and settings.bungeecord: true in each backend's spigot.yml with online-mode=false in server.properties.
  5. Register your backend servers in the proxy config and restart.
