A community-driven, open-source modding toolchain forked from Fabric.
What Quilt is and who it's for
Quilt is a community-governed fork of Fabric. It loads Quilt mods and most Fabric mods, and adds its own standard library. Quilt does not publish a ready-made server jar: the official route is the Quilt installer, which downloads the vanilla server and sets up Quilt Loader for you.
Every Quilt page gives the exact installer command for that Minecraft version. Most modpacks target Fabric, NeoForge or Forge; choose Quilt when your mods require it.

How to set up a Quilt server
Steps for the latest version (26.3); every version page has its own exact commands.
- Install Java 25 or newer (e.g. Eclipse Temurin) and check it with
java -version. - Download the official Quilt installer (
quilt-installer-0.15.1.jar) above. - In an empty folder run:
java -jar quilt-installer-0.15.1.jar install server 26.3 --download-server --create-scripts --install-dir=server - The installer downloads the vanilla 26.3 server, sets up Quilt Loader and writes start scripts into
server/. Start it once, then accept the EULA ineula.txt. - Put Quilt (and most Fabric) mods into
server/mods/.
Quilt FAQ
What is the latest Quilt version?
The newest Quilt release on MCJarHub is 26.3.
Can Quilt run Fabric mods?
Most of them, yes. Quilt aims for compatibility with Fabric mods, but some mods that rely on Fabric internals may not work.
Where is the Quilt server jar?
There is none to download: run the official installer with install server <version> --download-server.
