How to set up Quilt Snapshot 23w05a

  1. Install Java 17 or newer (e.g. Eclipse Temurin) and check it with java -version.
  2. Download the official Quilt installer (quilt-installer-0.15.1.jar) above.
  3. In an empty folder run: java -jar quilt-installer-0.15.1.jar install server 23w05a --download-server --create-scripts --install-dir=server
  4. The installer downloads the vanilla Snapshot 23w05a server, sets up Quilt Loader and writes start scripts into server/. Start it once, then accept the EULA in eula.txt.
  5. Put Quilt (and most Fabric) mods into server/mods/.

Modded servers need more memory: 6–8 GB for a light modpack, 8–12 GB or more for large packs. Leave 1–1.5 GB for the operating system. How much RAM?

Quilt Snapshot 23w05a needs Java 17 or newer. Running it on an older Java fails with an UnsupportedClassVersionError mentioning class file version 61.0.

Is Quilt Snapshot 23w05a safe for my survival world?
