How to set up NeoForge 26.1 Snapshot 7
- Install Java 25 or newer (e.g. Eclipse Temurin) and check it with
java -version. - Download the official installer
neoforge-26.1.0.0-alpha.12+snapshot-7-installer.jarinto an empty folder. - Run
java -jar neoforge-26.1.0.0-alpha.12+snapshot-7-installer.jar --installServer. It downloads the Minecraft server and libraries into the folder. - Start the server with the generated
run.sh(Linux/macOS) orrun.bat(Windows). Set memory inuser_jvm_args.txt, e.g.-Xmx6G. - Accept Mojang's EULA in
eula.txt(eula=true), start again, and put mods intomods/. - You can delete the installer and
installer.logafterwards.
Modded servers need more memory: 6–8 GB for a light modpack, 8–12 GB or more for large packs. Leave 1–1.5 GB for the operating system. How much RAM?
